The purpose of publishing the journal is to unite the creative efforts of students, graduate students, doctoral students, university professors, scientists and specialists from research organizations from different countries to solve important problems in the field of printing and publishing and to enhance scientific activity.

By the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, on the recommendation of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission, our journal News of Higher Educational Institutions. Problems of Printing and Publishing "is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications, in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of candidate of sciences, for the degree of doctor of sciences are to be published.

In accordance with Order No. 793 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated July 25, 2014, each journal must limit the publication of articles on materials related to the main results of candidate and doctoral dissertations to no more than 5 groups of scientific specialties (including those scientific specialties, which have different meanings in the last two digits of the number).

In our journal, these are the following scientific specialties:

• 05.02.13 — Machines, units and processes (by industry) (technical sciences),
• 08.00.05 — Economics and management of the national economy (by industries and spheres of activity) (economic sciences)

The purpose of the journal is to contribute to the development of university and industrial science by highlighting and discussing the results of fundamental and applied research, as well as accumulating experience in using the results of relevant scientific activities.

The journal is intended to comply with the policy of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, namely: to contribute to the creation of an information space aimed at identifying the most pressing problems and requests of the scientific community, highlighting the process of developing effective technologies and methods for their solution.

The objectives of the journal:

1. Publication of new scientific articles, innovative developments, historical documents and reviews of current scientific publications;
2. Formation of the scientific community by attracting articles of teachers and scientists from Russia and other countries to publications in the journal;
3. Raising the level of awareness of representatives of the scientific community in Russia and the world scientific community;
4. Increasing the creative and publication activity of scientists;
5. Familiarization of the readership with the latest achievements in the field of university and industry science;
6. Support for graduate and doctoral students in the testing of the results of dissertation research;
7. Contribute to the implementation of the main provisions of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.
8. Contribute to the development of a positive scientific and partner image of Russian science in the global scientific and information space.

The journal was conceived not just as a means of exchanging information through the publication of the latest works, but as an integral part of important processes taking place in modern science.
